Gauteng Guides Association (GGA) would like to invite you to our next General meeting to be held on 11 April 2011 at the Lion park .
For Immediate Release: 14 October 2009
TO JOURNALISTS AND NEWS EDITORS
With Voortrekker monument instituting their new rules on producing your credentials as guide before you may enter the monument has taken off with great enthusiasm , the GGA monitors were at the museum on the 2 May 2013 to help with this task and promote legal guiding, but like Murphy's law there were only three coaches and all of them had registered guides on board ,quite a few tourists traveling on their own. The GGA monitors will on a regular basis help and promote legal guiding .
I need to renew my first aid level 3 before the 1st of July 2013 and my tourist guide registration, NQ Level 4, kindly tell me how to go about it. I live in a remote part of the world, nobody offers first aid courses around here. I can go to Kemptonpark to do the course or Potchefstroom, or Klerksdorp.
You can contact me at 0823101876, I did try and phone you , no answer.
I'm also looking for a bus or overland truck to rent, August 8 tot 11, 2013.
Thanks.

Some roads in the Lowveld are getting almost undriveable and should be avoided.
Just a head's up if in Swaziland on 19th April, everything closes as it is the King's birthday. He was 45 years old this year and unfortunately massive rains washed out the celebrations at the National Stadium (very large tea and cake affair!). Almost everything closes or is on skeleton staff such as Glass Factory where the shops are open but factory closed (same at the Candle Factory - shops open but factory demonstrations closed).
Happy Guiding!

A group of the tourist guide monitors of the Gauteng Guides association went to do monitoring in Soweto yesterday the 29th April 2013 .A good group turned up and many gave apologies as they were on tour and could not attend .
All guides who check-in their pax on or later than 21:30 for the above flight in ORTIA please note the VAT refund counter (at duty free, after Immigration) will be closed at 22:00!
Biggest joke is: when the operator's appointed airport representative was contacted for our ETA at 21:00, he insists my group is leaving "to-morrow", not today! Africa Time!?!
Dear Fellow Tour Guide,
As I am sure that you are constantly adding to your knowledge of our country, I am writing to you to let you know that my new book Great Trek Uncut is currently being printed and will be available the last week of March and in the shops from the middle of April The book is a non fiction account of our history and covers events in our history in detail from the time of the Portuguese explorers through to 1852. I have endeavored to include the impact of the Great Trek on all our population groups.
