Please note that there will be a church service on 16 December in the Voortrekker Monument. The service will run from 07:00 to 11:30. Entrance to the service is free of charge but normal entrance fees will apply after 11:30. Seating is limited and you should arrive early if you would like to attend. After the sunlight has shone on the Cenotaph at 12:00 an ox wagon will be put together in the parking lot by members of the Centurion ATKV to celebrate the 175 Commemoration year.

With Voortrekker monument instituting their new rules on producing your credentials as guide before you may enter the monument has taken off with great enthusiasm , the GGA monitors were at the museum on the 2 May 2013 to help with this task and promote legal guiding, but like Murphy's law there were only three coaches and all of them had registered guides on board ,quite a few tourists traveling on their own. The GGA monitors will on a regular basis help and promote legal guiding .
A group of the tourist guide monitors of the Gauteng Guides association went to do monitoring in Soweto yesterday the 29th April 2013 .A good group turned up and many gave apologies as they were on tour and could not attend .

Thanks to all the Tourist guides who joined the educational to the listed world heritage site . 24 guides joined the convoy of 3 vehicles to meet up with Jan Fourie an registered tourist guide from Dome impact Tours .Coffee and a warm welcome awaited us at Egweni guesthouse in Parys where Jan gave a great audiovisual presentation on the DOME, and in easy language so that even i could understand and relate to .

The winter is around the corner and the chill is in the air , we all are feeling the slowdown in work and hope for a better season ahead .
A general update of what is happening in the life of tourist guiding
The general meeting held on the 15 march 2012 at the pyramid conference was succesful in that 67 members of Gga join the meeting Gga needs to thank Gta for the spsonsorship of the venue and the great lunch
The meeting is the last of the ongoing road-shows hosted by the NDT as a workshop to discus the regulations going with the tourism act 2012
The meeting was tarted by the program director sam wenger vice chairman of Gga and welcomming all
Fanie Terblanche then gave a welcome and intro to the meeting confirming that the backbone of the FSATGA is still GGA

To update your information please follow this steps
1.go to SEARCH (main Menu) click users and enter your GPno.
2.Click on your GPno link when it returns
3.You are now able to see your public information
4.Click Request new password (Below Login)
5.enter your GPno or email address
6.Computer will send new password link to your email address
7.Click on link in password email
8.you will now be logged on to your details
9.change your password and keep for future reference
10. Now update all your detail and your picture (max size 85x85pxl)
To check the email in the database
1.Click Guide Search on main menu
2.Tick email under Display options
3.Find your GPno and confirm the email address that the password has been sent to.
4.If you don’t have access to the email in database please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your name and GPno and new email and it will be reset
