Hi Johan
Just to let you know I experienced no problems with using my Cultour card throughout our tour of Egypt.
Our Jordan tourist guide did not attempt to use the card as told us we would not gain from it.
Our Egyptologist guide and tour guide throughout our trip of Egypt flashed my card whenever he could and negotiated entrance fees whenever he could.
I saved a lot with having my card on me and also tourist registration card with me.
Thank you for issuing the Cultour card so promptly and assisting me in this way.
Take care
Margie Bird

Dear Fellow Tourist Guides, Gauteng Guides Association had a very successful meeting with SATSA. The following issues we discussed
1.Complaints. The CEO of SATSA is of the opinion that matters relating to complaints between tourist guides and tour operators should be dissolved between the parties themselves. Satsa can not attend to every complaint of any kind each time there is a difference of opinions.
Usually the complaints are related to cancellation of tours on short notice and guiding fees.
Dear
WFTGA Cultour Partner Programme
As President of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA), I would like to introduce you to the World Tourism Industry partnership programme with the WFTGA.
WFTGA launched its WFTGA Cultour Partner Programme, in 2001. It is a programme of cooperation between museums, cultural institutions/sites and professional tourist guides around the world.
Gauteng Guides Ass has launched an SMS hot line for the reporting of any illegal guiding. Illegal guiding has been seen world wide as one of the most controversial subjects, as what constitutes an illegal guide, fortunately in South Africa we have the Tourist Amendment Act no 72 of 2000 which spells out illegal guiding. Up to now it has been difficult to actually report illegal guiding as the channels for this was difficult and cumbersome.
Minutes of the Management Meeting held on 30 March 2009.
