Don’t shoot the messenger!! PLEASE
This is what I found out from 2 hours spent at Permit Office today, to save YOU from a further 2 hours there ……
I went to the permit board today and low and behold the World Cup Permit Application Forms where there. This is what I found out from my 2 hours of lots of patience….
If you are transferring guests to or from World Cup Games, Stadiums, Pick up & Drop off Zones, Park & Ride facilities, apparently we then need to apply for Temporary Operating Permit (over and above our existing permit). For those only doing transfers to or from Airports & Hotels and not going anywhere near the actual stadiums/games, you do NOT need permits.
Any questions, please Phone Bertha Kabe Tel: 011 327 3611 or 072 475 1909 or 012 372 3738 at the Permit Board
Attachment No.1 The list of requirements that are needed for the application Process for World Cup Permit Application Forms
The first requirement is proof of registration with the Gauteng Public Transport Registrar.
To get this, you need to go to Surrey House, 5th Floor, Cnr Rissik Str & Commissioner street (1 block up from Permit Office) go see Elphas
You need to hand in a letter that you may have received when you first applied for a permit for your vehicle or if you applied for ConFed cup Permits. I have attached a copy of the letter that I had. (Attachment 2).
If you have this letter, they then just issue a special letter with 2010 Fifa World Cup Printed on it (See Attachment 3). If you do not have copy of this letter (attachment 2), but remember going to fill in the PURPLE forms in the past at Surrey House, then just take a copy of your Company CK Document and they will then try and find it for you. Go and make certified copies of this letter as you need to hand in one certified copy per vehicle application!!
If you do NOT have this letter, then there is a Thick Blue Form that you need to fill in which you receive at Surrey House but there are lots of documents you need to hand in with this form (List of these documents required are Attachment 4).
Make LOTS of Copies!! Because now you need documents for Surrey House and then the same Documents for Commissioner Street.
DEADLINE: 28 Feb 2010 for all World Cup Permits – Yip, this is ridiculous, I complained, but they want to know why I am complaining when over 200 operators have already had their vehicles inspected, handed their forms and paper work in without problems!
Good Luck Guys!! See you at the Permit Board or Polley Street for Vehicle Inspection (if she is there)!
Double up on the Calmets, bring a picnic basket and lots of good reading!!!
